  Sardargarh

Medieval Sardargarh

The contours of the fort which is spread over three lacs square feet beautifully blend with those of the Aravalli hills. To the north of the fort, lies Manohar Sagar, a large lake which gets filled to the brim during monsoon.
The gateways to the fort are massive reinforced marble structures built to withstand marauding armies, elephants and cannon volleys. These gateways are known as Pols. The Suraj Pol or Sun Gate is the main exterior gateway while Chand Pol or the Moon Gate is the interior one, located just opposite to it.

Sardargarh Heritage Hotel offers a breath-taking view on its all sides.

Grandeurs of the Fort Sardargarh

At Sardargarh Heritage Hotel the Durbar Hall offers a charming vista of the village and looming over the horizon is the imposing Aravalli Hill range.
The beautiful places within the fort include Mohan Prakash, Moti Mahal, Zenana Mahal, Chomkha Chowk, Suraj Mahal, Wadi Mahal, Khushal Mahal, Dil Kushal and Hawa Mahal... all are splendid architectural creations, silently narrating the heroic exploits of the Dhodhias.
The palaces are exquisite specimens of Rajput architecture with a touch of Moghul influence. The bath area, gardens and granaries, underground passage system personal apartments and public audience halls... all provide a picturesque contrast between the exigencies of defence and the flamboyance of prosperous peace.

While having a candlelight dinner at the terrace top, Rajasthani folk singers and dancers, will entertain you with their unique music and dance, more or less the same way as their ancestors entertained the royal family members and guests some 250 years ago.
